S – Self-Discipline
Of all the things to master in this life.
None are more important than this is.
The secret of my success if I had to pinpoint it?
Is not my dashing good looks. Talent or luck. (Facts)
And it isn't thinking about it which made the dream work. Its the Nike School of thought. So Just Do It.
Its the ability to consistently take action, even when motivation is low.
You think I feel like writing a 20000 post when i'm back working 16 hour days on IRL Biz since Sep 1st?
Nope, but that's exactly what im doing.
And its self-discipline fueling the fire my people.
—————❖—————
Self-discipline is the habit which always helps:
And this is how to cultivate it more than those plants that Howard Marks used to grow: 🌱
The Power That Separates Dreamers from Doers
You’ve got a shiny new idea, your motivation is at an all-time high, and you’re ready to take over the world.
Fast forward three weeks, and you’re lying on your couch, lost in a rabbit hole of YouTube videos and old WWE Re-runs (ok maybe that's just me then)
But In All Seriousness:
The problem isn’t your idea. It’s not your skills, either. The missing ingredient? Self-discipline.
Self-discipline is like that annoying but essential friend who reminds you to stick to your workout routine when you just want to binge-watch a whole season of your favorite show.
It’s the reason I put in 16 hour days:
The quiet superhero behind every success story whether it’s launching a business, building a personal brand on 𝕏, or just becoming the best version of yourself.
Why Self-discipline Is the Secret Sauce to Success
Let’s face it, motivation is fleeting. It’s like a cheap sparkler that burns bright and then finally fizzles out.
I'm the most enthusiastic person on this planet.
Dang, I even wrote an entire Coaching System on this.
(among other things - to bulletproof self beliefs, businesses and bank balances for everybody)
But self-discipline? That’s a slow-burning fire that keeps you going long after the initial excitement wears off. And any business has its ups and downs. Facts.
Imagine you want to build a successful business or grow your 𝕏 account. Yep, thought that you might...
Sure, there will be days when you wake up ready to conquer the world more than He-Man after eating two Weetabix instead of one.
But what about the days when you’d rather crawl under a blanket and scroll mindlessly through memes? than do anything even remotely worthwhile?
Welcome to real life kiddo.
That’s when self-discipline steps in.
—————❖—————
Self-discipline isn’t glamorous. It’s showing up, doing the work, and resisting distractions.
(and ignoring your neighbors barking dog)
It’s about making choices today that your future self will thank you for. But you know that.
Unless of course, you are thicker than a Mcdonalds Milkshake. (But your not if your reading this anyway)
Think of self discipline as your internal coach, pushing you to stick to your plan even when every fiber of your being wants to procrastinate.
(Its cheaper than a session with me - and every bit as effective)
How to Master Self-discipline Without Feeling Like a Drill Sergeant
The good news? You don’t have to turn into a robot to master self-discipline. Like this dude -🤖 H-e-l-l-o.
(Robby - fu**k off - im trying to motivate the masses)
It’s more about small, consistent actions than making yourself miserable with impossible expectations.
—————❖—————
Set Micro-Goals
Imagine you're trying to climb Mount Everest.
You wouldn’t stare up at the peak and start panicking that you have forgotten the chocolate biscuit in your picnic.
(well maybe I might if it was my Coffee though)
But you’d focus on getting to base camp first, right?
The same logic applies to self-discipline. Break down your big goals into bite-sized chunks. Mmm.
They are immediately made more munchable.
Want to grow your 𝕏 following to 1,000?
Start by committing to posting one or two high-quality tweets every day for a week. Consistency is key. 🔑
—————❖—————
Eliminate Temptations (aka Distractions)
Trying to focus with distractions everywhere is like trying to drive with a monkey in the backseat throwing bananas at you. Kids it’s not going to work.
Set yourself up for success by eliminating as many distractions as possible.
Put your phone on "Do Not Disturb," close unnecessary tabs, and create a work environment that helps you focus.
One monkey and a banana-free zone, coming right up.
—————❖—————
Reward Yourself for Small Wins
Remember those micro-goals? Celebrate when you achieve them.
Rewards create positive reinforcement, and who doesn’t love a treat after crushing it?
Whether it’s treating yourself to your favorite snack or taking a guilt-free Netflix break, rewarding yourself keeps your brain happy and motivated to stick with it.
—————❖—————
The 15-Minute Rule That Changes The Entire Game:
Here’s my secret trick: commit to doing something for just 15 minutes.
Whether it’s writing a tweet or brainstorming business ideas, tell yourself you’ll work for only 15 minutes.
More often than not, you’ll end up working longer because the hardest part is getting started.
Sneaky, right?
—————❖—————
The Funny Truth About Self-discipline
Here’s the thing about self-discipline: It’s not about being perfect.
Even the most successful people have days where they fall off the wagon. (Hic)
The difference is, they get back on.
(slurring my words) Now Somebody pass me that drink
—————❖—————
Think of self-discipline as the GPS for your life.
Sure, you might take a few wrong turns, but as long as you keep recalculating and adjusting, you’ll get where you need to be.
So next time you find yourself drifting toward a procrastination spiral, remind yourself: self-discipline isn’t about willpower, it’s about habits.
Build the right habits, and before you know it, you’ll be unstoppable.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to get back to attending to that Monkey.
(Hey - get your hands off those Bananas Chimpface !) 🐒
Onto part two...
E – Execution
Nah we ain' talking about Anne Boleyn.
(What do you think this is a History lesson?)
But we ARE talking about turning plans from fluffy little dreams into actionable, rock sold plans.
(harder than my abs are/were/have never been) Err,
LISTEN - heres the thing:
—————❖—————
Great ideas are important, but execution is what sets successful people apart. Focus on getting things done and turning plans into results.
Here's exactly how kids:
Stop Daydreaming and Start Crushing Your Goals
Ever met someone with a million-dollar idea… who’s still sitting on it five years later?
Yep, we have all met them. The man with the best idea down the pub...
They talk about it all the time, sketching out plans and dreaming about success, but they never actually do anything. That’s the difference between dreamers and achievers: execution.
—————❖—————
Execution is where the magic happens. It’s not just about having ideas; it’s about making those ideas come to life.
Without execution, even the best plans stay just that, fluffy little dreams.
But listen fluffkins -
No plans. No growth, no impact, no success.
Whether you're trying to scale a business, hit new milestones in self-development, or grow your social media account, execution is the bridge between where you are now and where you want to be.
—————❖—————
Why Execution Is the Secret to Turning Good Ideas into Great Results
Let’s say you have a brilliant business idea or a new strategy that could skyrocket customer engagement.
Ideas are great, but ideas alone don’t put money in the bank, followers on your feed, or personal growth under your belt.
That’s like buying a gym membership and expecting to get ripped just because you own the card my dude.
Nope, you’ve got to show up and lift those weights (ouch, I know, they ain't light some days my Tribe)
But nothing worth having rarely happens without effort does it?
—————❖—————
Execution turns ideas into reality.
In business, it means taking action on that new product launch, improving your service, or reaching out to that potential client.
All of which I have done, and you gotta do exactly the same (Roy Castle Voice)
🎶If you wanna be a Record Breaker🎶
For self-development, it means not just reading self-help books but actually applying what you learn.
There's a gargantuan difference.
Don't believe me. Ok...
I will lend your 15 year old nephew a book on how to drive a car. Then at the end of the week they have to do their practical driving test.
Dude, the DVLA says 'Fail.'
Knowing is one thing. Doing is something different.
And on 𝕏? It’s not just about thinking up clever tweets; it’s about consistently showing up, posting and over delivering.
—————❖—————
Think of it this way: if ideas are the gas, then execution is the engine that turns that gas into forward motion. 🚗 Zooom.
Without execution, you’re just revving the engine without ever getting out of the driveway my dude.
—————❖—————
How to Master the Art of Execution Without Losing Your Mind
Now, if execution were easy, everyone would do it, right?
The trick is to make it a habit and to keep moving even when things get messy.
Spoiler alert: they always get messy.
—————❖—————
Start Small and Build Momentum
You don’t have to execute your whole plan at once. In fact, trying to do too much at once can be a recipe for disaster (or, at the very least, a meltdown involving a lot of coffee).
Start with small, actionable steps.
If you want to grow your account, commit to posting one high-quality tweet a day.
Got a business idea? Execute the first step: market research, a simple website, or a few client calls.
Small steps build momentum, and before you know it, you’re rolling like a freight train.
—————❖—————
Perfection Is Overrated
Listen, im a recovering one of these myself...
But one of the biggest killers of execution is perfectionism.
You know the drill, you want everything to be perfect before you start. The result? You never start.
Welcome to the path of the fantasist. But Mike will never let that happen to you ! (I got you covered)
—————❖—————
Newsflash: nothing will ever be perfect.
-Launch the imperfect product. (well try not to though)
-Send the less-than-perfect tweet.
-Let the world see your imperfect effort;
The point is: action beats perfection every single time.
Create Accountability
Want to know how successful people get things done? They make sure someone’s watching.
Create accountability by telling someone your goals.
You’re far less likely to bail on executing your plans if you know your friend, mentor, or followers are expecting results.
Accountability keeps you honest, and sometimes, that’s all it takes to push you into action mode.
—————❖—————
Kill Distractions Before They Kill Your Progress
Let’s be real: distractions are execution’s worst enemy.
You sit down to work, and 10 minutes later, you’re watching videos of cats riding Roombas.
Cut distractions by setting specific times for focused work, turning off notifications, and creating a “do not disturb” zone.
When it’s time to execute, protect that time like it’s your life savings.
A Funny Truth About Execution
Here’s a little secret: even the pros don’t always feel like executing their plans. Me included kids.
You think Elon Musk wakes up every day bursting with excitement to handle every single business meeting? Nope. And honestly, neither do I.
The difference is, successful people do it anyway. They execute whether they’re motivated or not, knowing that action breeds results.
(and motivation follows action in my experience also)
The funny thing about execution is that once you start doing it, it becomes addictive. At first, it feels like pushing a boulder uphill, but once that thing starts rolling, you can’t stop it.
So, don’t wait until you feel “ready” to execute. You won’t. Just start. Your future self will thank you.
The bottom line? Dream big, but execute bigger.
P – Perseverance
Challenges and setbacks are inevitable.
And getting through them can be tougher than trying to open my new Carton of Milk with Touch Screen Gloves on.
But kiddlywinks, perseverance is essential to push through difficult times and keep moving toward your goals. Yea I know...
I get it.
When every fiber of your being is telling you
'F -this-I quit.'
That's the time to step the game up James. (Lebron)
And this is how you do it Nike Style:
—————❖—————
The Key to Winning After Everyone Else Has Quit
Imagine you’re running a marathon. The crowd’s cheering, your playlist is pumping, and you’re feeling like an Olympic athlete.
Then, halfway through, your legs feel like jelly, and you’re starting to question every life choice that led you to this moment. Most people tap out.
But the winners? They keep going.
That’s perseverance, the art of sticking it out when everything in you wants to throw in the Towel.
In business, self-development, and growing a following on socials; perseverance is your secret weapon. Its been mine before and will be again.
It's the ability to push through challenges, ignore the voice in your head saying, “Maybe I’m just not cut out for this,” and keep going until you succeed.
Spoiler: It’s always darkest before the dawn. 🌤️🌞
—————❖—————
Perseverance Separates the Winners Out
Let me tell you a story. In 1999, a guy named Reed Hastings pitched an idea to Blockbuster, renting DVDs online.
Blockbuster laughed him out of the room.
'You absolute fool' (what kind of Mother names somebody Reed who wants us to sell DVD's)
They might, or (might not) have said.
Hastings didn’t quit. Instead, he doubled down, stuck with his vision, and built what we now know as Netflix. Blockbuster? Well, we all know how that story ended...
(Ive still got one of their videos here actually.)
—————❖—————
The P Word That You Wont Get Told Off For:
Perseverance is what separates people like Reed Hastings from the ones who give up after the first rejection. It’s easy to quit when things get hard, especially when you’re trying to build a business or grow an audience.
But the truth is, the people who succeed are the ones who stick around long enough to see the results.
Let’s face it: growing an account on 𝕏 can feel like shouting into the void at first.
You post your witty insights, your carefully crafted content, and… crickets.
But here’s the thing, most people quit before the algorithm even has a chance to work in their favor.
The trick is to outlast the dip, the dry spells, and the days when it feels like nothing’s working.
—————❖—————
Build Perseverance Without Losing Your Mind
(Or your Hair)
Break Down Big Goals into Bite-Sized Wins:
Ever tried to eat an entire XXL pizza in one sitting?
(Okay, maybe bad example because some of us have)
Errm...It was a Hawaiin - what can I say ?
The point is, trying to tackle a massive goal in one go is overwhelming. Break your big goals down into smaller, bite-sized tasks.
—————❖—————
Want to grow your business?
Start by focusing on securing one client.
Trying to hit 1000 followers on 𝕏?
-Focus on engaging with 5 new accounts every day.
-Commit to making daily posts.
Smaller wins build momentum and make the journey more bearable.
—————❖—————
Learn to Love the Journey, Not Just the Destination
Perseverance isn’t just about sticking it out for the end goal. It’s about learning to enjoy the process.
If you’re only focused on the destination, you’ll burn out faster than a candle in the wind. (Sorry Elton)
—————❖—————
Celebrate small milestones.
Did you gain 10 followers this week? Awesome.
Closed your first sale? Pop the champagne!
When you celebrate the little victories, you’ll find the perseverance to keep going for the big ones.
—————❖—————
Remind Yourself Why You Started
Every journey has rough patches, days where you want to delete your 𝕏 account, abandon your business plan, and move to a cabin in the woods.
A perfect example in my own life is when I went from engaging and posting every day for 90 days straight to having to turn my attention back to IRL business.
Damn. Elon said au-revoir to my impressions this week faster than my ex girlfriends did to my indisputable charm...
When those days hit, did I give up and go into a sulky ball. Did I ever !
You got to go back to your "why."
I made a commitment to level people up here and that is exactly what I am still doing.
(Even if it is just you reading this at the moment !)
Your “why” is the fuel that’ll keep you going when everything else is telling you to quit.
—————❖—————
Develop Thick Skin (Like, Rhino-Level) 🦏
If you’re building a business or growing on 𝕏, you’ll face criticism and setbacks.
Maybe you’ll get negative comments, or maybe your brilliant post will flop. We've all been there.
Either way, developing thick skin is crucial. Remember, not every failure is a reflection of your ability. Sometimes it’s just part of the process.
Learn from it, shake it off, and keep going. Resilience is perseverance’s best friend.
—————❖—————
The Hilarious (and Hard) Truth About Perseverance
Perseverance is kind of like running on a treadmill: you’re sweating, you’re tired, and you’re pretty sure you’ll never make it, but then, suddenly, you hit your stride.
In the middle of the struggle, it’s hard to see the end. But once you get there, it feels like the struggle was just a weird dream you can barely remember.
I used to work a 9-5 many years ago.
At the time it felt like it might be my fate forever.
But I broke out of the Matrix through dang hard work. And you can too !
It’s important to remember that even the most successful people didn’t get there because things were easy. They got there because they persevered when things were hard.
Amazing/Amazon/Absolute Commitment Needed:
You think Jeff Bezos built Amazon without a few meltdowns along the way? Nope. But he kept going, and now people can order socks and a TV at 2 a.m. from the comfort of their bed. (Or 90's WWE Figures)
Well, someones gotta buy them !
So, when you’re knee-deep in frustration and nothing seems to be working, just remember: this is the part where most people give up. But not you. You’re going to keep going, push through the dip, and eventually, you’ll get to the other side.
Keep going. Success is waiting right past the moment when everyone else decides to quit.
I swear it.
T – Time Management
Dang, even Doctor Who fails to manage time effectively as I do. (and for the less nerdy among us -
He is what is known as a Time Lord.)
Ok, less nerd more word(s) about what you came here to hear...
Mastering how to prioritize and manage your time efficiently can elevate both personal and professional growth. Faster than a caffeinated Cat chasing Cheese.
—————❖—————
How to Stop Feeling Like There’s Never Enough Time and Actually Get Stuff Done
Imagine this: You sit down to work on your business or craft the perfect post, but instead, you fall into a black hole of emails, scrolling, and wondering if penguins have knees. (Answer: Yes, they actually do!)
Hours go by, and suddenly, you realize, nothing important got done. That’s the time management struggle we’ve all faced at one point or another.
Here’s the hard truth: everyone gets the same 24 hours in a day. The difference between those who crush their goals and those who feel constantly overwhelmed isn’t that they have more time, it’s that they manage their time better.
—————❖—————
Why Time Management Is the Superpower You Didn’t Know You Needed
Time management is like having a personal cheat code to success. Whether you’re trying to build a business empire, develop your personal skills, or grow your account, mastering time is what helps you juggle it all without feeling like your hair is constantly on fire.
Think of time like currency. You’ve only got so much of it, so how you spend it matters. You wouldn’t spend £100 on a pack of gum (hopefully), so why would you spend your precious time on tasks that don’t move the needle forward?
Time management isn’t about cramming more tasks into your day; it’s about making sure the things that actually matter get done first.
—————❖—————
Mastering Time Management Without Feeling Like You’re In A Never Ending Race
The Eisenhower Matrix:
Sort Your To-Do List Like a Boss:
Here’s a fun fact: not all tasks are created equal.
Some are urgent and important, like responding to a critical client email, while others are just “meh” (looking at you, checking TikTok).
Enter the Eisenhower Matrix, a time management tool where you categorize tasks into four quadrants:
-Urgent & Important (Do these now)
-Not Urgent but Important (Plan for these)
-Urgent but Not Important (Delegate these)
-Not Urgent & Not Important (Eliminate these)
Suddenly, your never-ending to-do list looks way more manageable, and your time is spent where it counts, on the tasks that drive your business or personal growth forward.
I read about this years ago in Steven Coveys seminal title 'The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People'
Short and funny aside - i actually lost the first copy of the Book. (Wasn't very effective of me was it?)
—————❖—————
Time Blocking: Schedule Your Day Like It’s an Event
Think about your calendar. You’d never “accidentally” miss a meeting if it was on your schedule, right?
(Okay, maybe once or twice, but still.)
Time blocking works the same way. Instead of just hoping you’ll find time to post or work on your business, schedule it.
Give each task a designated time slot, and treat it like a non-negotiable appointment.
For example, block off 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. for replying with followers or 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
If you still have a job (just over broke)
Do it in the evenings. Or get up one hour earlier you lazy toe rags. 😉
Plan your content creation as well.
This method keeps you focused and prevents your day from slipping through the cracks like sand through a sieve.
—————❖—————
The Funny Thing About Time Management
Here’s the hilarious (and kind of brutal) truth: Some people think that they are 'bad' at time management, but it’s not that we don’t have enough time, it’s that we spend too much of it on things that don’t matter.
Imagine running a race but stopping every few steps to pet a dog, chat with a friend, or, you know, check your notifications. (we all do it...)
Sure, you’ll eventually finish the race, but it’ll take forever, and you’ll probably be exhausted by the end. (and don't mention Dogs to me again ok? Long story...)
The secret to time management isn’t about becoming a machine. It’s about working smarter, not harder.
Once you master these time-saving techniques, you’ll find yourself with more hours in the day to focus on what really matters, whether that’s growing your business, or leveling up your self-development.
—————❖—————
Can't do this with a 9-5 job? Bullshit.
You can and you must, of you want to experience a different and better reality in the future.
So, stop wishing for more time and start managing the time you’ve got like a boss. The clock’s ticking, but now, you’re in control of it.
E – Empathy
You all know the famous line right? (well you do now...)
'People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.'
Its TRUE. People are Selfish. (But not in a bad way)
Understanding others' perspectives builds stronger relationships, enhances leadership skills, and fosters better communication in all areas of life.
If we all take that little bit of time to do so...Well, things go that little bit more swimmingly. Check this out:
—————❖—————
The Surprising Superpower That Set You Apart
Imagine this: You're at a party, and someone won't stop talking about themselves. (BORING)
They go on and on about their job, their vacation, their cat’s gluten-free diet, and never once ask about you. How quickly do you tune out?
Pretty frikkin fast right. Yep. Eyes glaze over and all you can think about is excuses to get the hell out of there.
Now imagine you’re doing the same thing with your business, content, or 𝕏 account, talking at people, but never connecting. Or even worse only interested in TELLING. (But nobody likes to be told)
And its a little but like how everybody loves to buy but hates being 'sold' to.
I spent 90 days replying and contributing to the conversation before I had to turn my attention back to IRL Biz. That cost me money - but it was an investment 100% worth making.
Yet the connections I have formed with people are easily rekindled, because I have proven already that I care about them.
Its like the person doing 'cold' outreach starting a DM with Hi {Name} -then immediately trying to sell you something, as opposed to someone who is genuinely offering a solution to your problems.
It makes the world of difference. 🌍
The difference between a business or personal brand that thrives and one that struggles? Empathy.
Empathy is like the Swiss Army knife of success, versatile, powerful, and able to help you in almost every situation.
It’s the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. When you apply empathy in business or social media, it’s the secret sauce that makes people feel seen, heard, and valued.
And trust me, when people feel like you “get” them, they’re way more likely to stick around and support you.
—————❖—————
Why Empathy Is Exactly What You Need Right Now
Empathy might sound soft, but it’s a hardcore business strategy that can help you win.
In today’s fast-paced, noisy world, people crave connection. Whether you’re building a product, crafting a tweet, or developing your personal brand, people want to know that you understand them.
And if you don’t? Well, they’ll move on faster than you can say “unsubscribe.”
Take growing an audience on 𝕏, for example. Sure, you could post about whatever’s on your mind all day, but if you’re not listening to your audience’s needs, pain points, or interests, your engagement will tank.
People follow and interact with accounts that resonate with them, that seem to get what they’re going through. This is where empathy comes in clutch.
Understanding what your audience needs or wants helps you create content they can’t wait to engage with.
—————❖—————
In business, the same rule applies. I have done this myself and benefited from this exponentially:
Empathetic leaders build stronger teams, and empathetic brands create loyal customers.
When you put yourself in your customer’s shoes, you’ll not only create better products but also market them in a way that speaks directly to their needs.
—————❖—————
How to Develop Your Empathy
(Without Turning into a Full-Time Therapist)
Listen More Than You Speak:
Shocking, right? The key to empathy is simple: listen.
Whether it’s reading comments on your posts or paying attention to feedback from clients, actively listening to others gives you insight into their needs and feelings.
If you want to engage with your audience or customers on a deeper level, stop talking at them and start listening to what they’re telling you.
Are they complaining about something? Excited about a new trend? Use this insight to create content or products that meet them where they are.
—————❖—————
Ask Questions (Then Care About Answers)
Empathy isn’t about pretending to care, it’s about genuinely wanting to understand.
I slag off the copy paste DM's but the real connections are made within them when used properly.
Ask your audience questions that go beyond the surface. What do they struggle with? What are their dreams, fears, or frustrations? On 𝕏, this could also mean replying to comments, or simply engaging in conversations.
In business, it’s about checking in with your customers and asking for feedback, then making improvements based on what they say.
—————❖—————
Walk in Their Shoes (Even If They Don’t Fit)
I know, you’ve probably heard the phrase “walk in their shoes” a million times, but it’s true. Try to see things from your audience or customer’s perspective.
If you were in their situation, what would you need?
What would help you solve your problem? When you view the world through someone else’s lens, you’re able to create content, products, or strategies that actually solve problems instead of just adding noise.
—————❖—————
Be Human - Not like Robby - 🤖
Here’s a shocker: people prefer connecting with actual humans, not corporate robots. Empathy means showing your human side, being real, being vulnerable, and showing that you understand their struggles because you’ve been there too.
I failed a lot before I 'made it.'
Share your story, your failures, and your successes. Whether you're building a brand on 𝕏 or running a business, being relatable makes people trust you. And trust is a currency you can't buy.
—————❖—————
(It's Not Just About Being Nice)
Here’s where it gets interesting: empathy isn’t just about being nice and giving people warm fuzzies. It’s about solving problems.
When you understand your audience’s pain points, you can offer real solutions. When you understand your customer’s needs, you create products they’ll actually want to buy. And when you show empathy as a leader, you build a team that works harder, because they feel valued.
So, the next time you’re drafting a tweet or brainstorming your next business move, ask yourself:
What does my audience really need?
And how can I give it to them in a way that makes them feel heard?
That’s the empathetic edge that’ll make you stand out in a sea of competitors.
And hey, if you can manage to do this while still cracking jokes and sharing memes, even better. Empathy doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with it—just that you’re having fun with your audience, not at their expense.
That’s what will make you unforgettable.
M – Mindset
There's only one thing worse than a pessimist.
Its a pessimist who always thinks that their right...
A growth mindset, believing that abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, opens doors to continuous learning and improvement.
And I promise you that every single one of the successful clients I have ever worked with over the last twenty years developed or possessed one.
—————❖—————
The Invisible Gear Shift Turning Struggles into Success
Imagine you’re driving a car up a steep hill, but instead of shifting gears, you keep it in neutral and hope gravity will do the work.
Dude: it won’t.
Your mindset is the gear shift of your life. When you get stuck in neutral, no matter how hard you press the accelerator, you’re not going anywhere.
But with the right mindset, you can shift gears and power through any obstacle, whether it’s in business, self-development, or growing your 𝕏 account.
Mindset isn’t just a buzzword thrown around by self-help gurus; (and me) it’s the difference between staying stuck and reaching your goals.
So, if you’re not leveling up in your business or personal growth, the problem might not be your strategy, it might be your mindset. In fact - it IS.
—————❖—————
Why Mindset Is the Turbo Boost to Your Success
Let’s break it down: your mindset is how you perceive challenges, failures, and opportunities.
There are two types of mindsets that determine whether you’re cruising toward success or stalled at a roadblock: fixed mindset and growth mindset.
In a fixed mindset, you believe your talents, intelligence, and abilities are set in stone.
You avoid challenges, fear failure, and think you’ve got a limited pool of potential.
On the other hand, in a growth mindset, you believe you can develop skills, learn from failures, and improve with effort. This isn’t just motivational fluff, science backs it up.
(and so do my 23 years of experience)
People with a growth mindset outperform those with a fixed mindset because they see failure as feedback, not a full stop.
Let’s say you’re trying to grow your business or 𝕏 following. In a fixed mindset, every setback feels like a reason to quit.
“I lost followers? My content must be trash. I’ll never figure out the algorithm.”
But with a growth mindset, you flip the script:
“Lost followers? Great, now I can experiment with new content and learn what works better.”
The shift from fixed to growth is like swapping out a bicycle for a racecar.
Cultivate a Mind That Puts You in the Driver’s Seat
(Reframe Failure as Fuel, Not a Dead End)
Let’s get one thing straight: failure isn’t fatal.
It’s feedback.
Successful people aren’t failure-proof; they’re failure-resilient. The next time something doesn’t go as planned, whether it’s a business deal falling through or a post on 𝕏 flopping, don’t throw in the towel.
Instead, ask yourself, “What can I learn from this?” Embracing failure as part of the process is a mindset shift that turns obstacles into opportunities.Example: Your X account engagement tanked. Instead of sulking, see it as a chance to try a different content strategy.
Learn from what didn’t work, test new ideas, and improve. That’s the growth mindset in action.
—————❖—————
Practice the Art of “Yet”
Fixed mindset people love saying, “I can’t do this.” Growth mindset people add a magic word: yet.
“I can’t do this yet” leaves room for growth and possibility.
Whether you’re learning how to run a business, manage a team, or crack the 𝕏 code, adding “yet” to your language gives your brain permission to figure it out.
The next time you hit a roadblock, catch yourself in the act of saying “I can’t,” and immediately follow it up with “yet.” You’ll notice how powerful it feels to turn a dead-end into a detour.
Surround Yourself with Growth-Minded People
You are who you hang out with. That's exactly why I created my Mastermind Group.
If you’re constantly around people who complain, play the victim, or have fixed mindsets, it’s only a matter of time before that rubs off on you.
Instead, seek out people who are solution-focused, embrace challenges, and see failure as part of the journey. Whether it’s joining mastermind groups, following inspiring creators on 𝕏, or networking with growth-minded entrepreneurs, your environment has a huge impact on your mindset.
—————❖—————
Celebrate Progress, Not Perfection
Perfectionism is a sneaky fixed mindset in disguise. The truth is, waiting until something is perfect usually means you’ll never start. Celebrate the process of learning and growing, not just the end result.
-Hit 500 followers on 𝕏? Awesome! It’s not 10,000 yet, but progress is progress.
-Made your first sale in your business? Great! Maybe it’s not a million-dollar deal, but it’s a step in the right direction.
The key is to keep moving forward, even when the results are imperfect. As long as you’re growing, you’re winning.
—————❖—————
The Funny Thing About Mindset
(Spoiler: It’s All in Your Head)
The hilarious part about mindset is that it’s literally all in your head. You could have two people in the exact same situation, one thrives, and the other folds.
The difference? How they think. If you believe you’re stuck, you’ll stay stuck. But if you believe you can figure it out, suddenly doors open that you didn’t even know existed.
Mindset is like wearing a pair of sunglasses. In a fixed mindset, the lenses are foggy, and every challenge looks like a disaster. In a growth mindset, the lenses are clear, and you see challenges as exciting opportunities to level up.
So, next time you feel stuck in your business, your personal growth, or your 𝕏 strategy, remember: it’s not the mountain ahead that’s holding you back, it’s the pebble in your shoe!
Shift your mindset, and you’ll be surprised at how fast you can climb. Get in gear.
Your success is just one mindset shift away.
B – Balance
Ok, ok, so im hardly the most balanced person on the planet - but you will find that most people driven by a passion for what they do are like me as well.
Maybe you can relate?
But here is the truth...
Sustained success requires balance between work and personal life. Take time to recharge, so you can maintain focus and productivity in the long run.
—————❖—————
The Secret Ingredient for Avoiding Burnout and Crushing Your Goals
Check this out, You’re juggling flaming torches, business goals, personal growth, and your 𝕏 account.
At first, you’re doing great, impressing everyone with your multitasking skills. But then, one torch drops, then another, and suddenly you’re in the middle of a fiery mess, wondering how you got there.
This is what happens when balance goes out the window. And actually exactly what happened to me in the last few days.
Being forced to attend to other IRL business meant that my impressions (and time to engage in conversations) took a nosedive. And instead of 16 hour days - i was pulling 20 hour marathons ! 🏃
But life is all about balance and there will always be time to grow, time to post and times where you need to dedicate efforts elsewhere. Deal with it !
In today’s world, the hustle culture glorifies working 24/7 and sacrificing everything for success.
Listen, I work harder than anybody I have ever met - but its not really work if you love it.
But the truth is, burnout is lurking around the corner for anyone who doesn’t master the art of balance.
Me included. Its the reason I jump on my motorcycle or take myself for a run.
Whether you’re building a business, growing your personal brand on 𝕏, or trying to level up in life, finding balance is the key to sustainable success.
—————❖—————
Why Balance Is the Secret to Long-Term Success (Hint: It’s Not About Doing It All)
Let’s face it, burning the candle at both ends sounds impressive, but eventually, you’ll run out of wax.
Balance isn’t about being mediocre at everything; it’s about knowing when to push hard and when to take your foot off the gas.
Think of it like a seesaw. If one side is too heavy, whether it’s work, self-development, or social media, it tips, and eventually, everything falls apart.
But it doesn't have to be this way.
In business, especially as an entrepreneur, it’s easy to go all-in, working late nights and sacrificing weekends. Me? That's exactly what I do, it brings me joy. But the moment it didn't - would be the exact moment I stopped.
You might think that grinding 24/7 is the only way to get ahead, but without balance, you’ll burn out faster than you can say “burn rate.” The same goes for growing your 𝕏 account.
Sure, consistency is key, but if you’re constantly glued to your phone trying to keep up, you’ll end up resenting the process.
Unless you don't in which case by all means carry on !
Balance is what allows you to maintain momentum without falling apart. It’s about understanding that rest and downtime are just as important as the hustle.
Not everybody is as keen as me. And thats ok too.
When you find balance, you’re more productive, creative, and less likely to hit the dreaded burnout wall.
—————❖—————
Set Clear Boundaries Between Work and Life
Let’s be real: in the age of remote work and side hustles, the line between work and life gets blurry fast.
Here’s the fix: Set designated work hours and stick to them. They can be long ones - I pull 16 hour days standard, but that's just me. You can do more, you can do less.
But outside those hours, unplug.
Buy a motorcycle. Take your girlfriend out. Dang, you even just got for a walk. This gives you time to recharge and be fully present when it’s time to work.
—————❖—————
Learn to Say “No” Without Guilt
Saying yes to everything is the fastest way to throw your balance out of whack. Whether it’s taking on an extra project, meeting after meeting, or trying to be everywhere on social media, you’ll soon find yourself stretched too thin.
Im lucky enough to be in a position to be able to say 'no.' But it wasn't always this way...
The key to balance is learning to say “no” to things that don’t align with your priorities.
-Business opportunity that doesn’t fit your goals? Pass.
-Social media trend that everyone’s hopping on, but it’s not your thing? Skip it.
Saying no isn’t about being lazy; it’s about protecting your time and energy for what really matters.
—————❖—————
Schedule Downtime (Yes, You Read That Right)
Here’s something funny: we’re all about scheduling meetings, calls, and work tasks, but we rarely schedule time for ourselves. And that’s a huge mistake. Downtime isn’t just a luxury, it’s essential for balance.
Block out time in your calendar for self-care, hobbies, and just doing nothing. This could be anything from hitting the gym, watching your favorite show, or spending time with family.
When you recharge, you come back to work with more energy, creativity, and focus. It’s not slacking off, it’s balance. Yep, even for me.
—————❖—————
Embrace Imperfection
Yep, I keep coming back to this, more than your forgetful Grandma, but even as a successful person (so called) One of the biggest balance killers? Perfectionism.
If you’re constantly striving for perfection in every area of your life, you’ll never feel like you’ve done enough.
Spoiler: Perfection doesn’t exist. Instead, aim for progress, not perfection. If your 𝕏 post isn’t 100% perfect or your business plan has a few rough edges, it’s okay.
Focus on the big picture. Done is better than perfect, and taking action is better than getting stuck in analysis paralysis.
When you let go of perfectionism, you create space for balance.
—————❖—————
The Truth About Balance: It’s Not Always 50/50
Here’s a funny truth about balance: it’s not always about giving equal weight to everything. Sometimes, life is going to be 80% work and 20% personal time.
(Like when starting out)
Other times, it’ll flip. Balance isn’t about strict symmetry; it’s about knowing when to lean into one side and when to pull back. It’s more like a dance than a seesaw.
Imagine trying to stand on one leg for too long. Eventually, you wobble.
But if you shift your weight from leg to leg, you can keep standing. Balance is just like that. Some days you’ll hustle hard, and other days you’ll rest harder. Both are equally important.
So, next time you feel like you’re juggling too much, remember: balance is the key to staying in the game for the long haul.
Drop the torches if you need to, just make sure you’re lighting them back up when it’s time to shine again !
E – Education
I failed many of my exams at School but went on to earn far more than any of my teachers.
And it turns out they were right all along.
(But not quite like they were telling me at the time)
But the key to success IS undoubtedly - to -
Never stop learning. Continuous education, whether formal or self-taught, ensures you're always growing and staying relevant. And a lifelong learner is a powerful person indeed...
—————❖—————
The Ultimate Cheat Code for Staying Ahead in Business and In Life
Imagine playing a video game, but no matter how hard you try, you can’t get past Level 3. You’re stuck, frustrated, and watching other players zip by you like it’s nothing.
What if I told you there’s a cheat code that could not only help you beat Level 3 but also unlock all the other levels? Well, in the game of life and business, that cheat code is education.
But wait, don’t roll your eyes. I’m not talking about going back to school and suffering through boring lectures.
Education is everywhere, and it’s your secret weapon to staying ahead of the curve.
Whether you’re building a business, growing your account on 𝕏, or working on self-development, continuous learning is the one thing that keeps you from becoming outdated.
—————❖—————
Why Education Is the Ultimate Power Move
Let’s be honest: in today’s world, everything changes at lightning speed. The algo strategy that worked for growing your 𝕏 account last year is probably outdated today.
(Though Authenticity, Attention and Storytelling bypasses this anyway - as does getting people onto your email list)
But that's another story...
The business model you started with? It’s likely evolved. The most successful people aren’t the ones who know it all, they’re the ones who never stop learning.
—————❖—————
Think of it like this: your brain is a muscle. 🧠
If you don’t work it out regularly, it gets lazy, and before you know it, you’re the equivalent of a 1995 dial-up connection in a 5G world.
But when you commit to learning, whether it’s through books, podcasts, courses, or even threads like this; You keep your brain sharp, adaptable, and ready to tackle whatever new challenges come your way.
In business, the more you learn, the more you earn. And when it comes to growing your presence on 𝕏, understanding trends, audience psychology, and new tools keeps you one step ahead of the game.
Education isn’t just about knowledge; it’s about evolving.
—————❖—————
How to Keep Learning Without Turning into a Boring Know-It-All
(Be a lifelong Student of the Game)
The best entrepreneurs and content creators are lifelong students. I could have stopped years ago and retired on a Tropical Island somewhere watching 90's Wrestling. (But learning is more than just earning)
Winners are constantly seeking out new knowledge, but they don’t sit through lectures in a classroom all day. Instead, they use what’s at their fingertips: podcasts, blogs, threads, YouTube tutorials, and online courses.
I spent more on self education than Zsa Zsa Gabor did on Shoes. (Thats a LOT)
And still to this day I dedicate 30 minutes a day to learning something new. Follow thought leaders in your niche on 𝕏, listen to a podcast while you work out, or dive into a book on a topic that interests you.
Whether it’s marketing hacks, self-improvement techniques, or how to dominate social media, there’s endless free knowledge out there waiting for you.
—————❖—————
Learn by Doing (Not Just Consuming)
This one’s crucial. A lot of people think education is just about sitting and absorbing information, but that’s only half the battle.
Real learning happens when you take that knowledge and put it into action.
-Want to grow your 𝕏 account? Don’t just read about the best posting strategies, test them out.
-Running a business? Try implementing the latest marketing tactic you heard about. Study The Greats.
The key is to apply what you learn. Experiment, fail, and learn some more. Education isn’t a spectator sport, it’s a contact sport kids !
—————❖—————
Stay Forever Curious
(And Never the Smartest Person in the Room)
Curiosity may have killed the cat, but it’s also the driving force behind every innovator, entrepreneur, and creator. Myself included.
Kids get it...
When you stay curious, you’re always asking questions, exploring new topics, and discovering new ways to solve problems.
One of the best ways to fuel your curiosity?
Surround yourself with people who challenge you.
I have my Mastermind Group for this. Do you?
If you’re always the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room.
Engage with clever people on 𝕏, join mastermind groups, or attend industry events. You’ll pick up new ideas and perspectives that keep your brain buzzing with fresh knowledge.
—————❖—————
The More You Learn, the More You Realize You Don’t Know
Here’s the truth about education: the smarter you get, the dumber you feel. I know, it sounds backward, but stay with me...
The more you dive into new knowledge, the more you realize how much there is to learn. But that’s the beauty of it, there’s no finish line. You’re always evolving, always growing.
—————❖—————
Think of education like upgrading your software. You don’t want to be stuck on version 1.0 when everyone else is on 3.5, right?
Keep learning, keep leveling up, and soon enough, you’ll find that the things you once struggled with are now second nature. And the best part? You’ll be miles ahead of those who stopped learning after high school.
(Or paid for one of those ridiculously expensive Work Permits - sorry, I meant Degrees😉)
So, whether you’re looking to build a business, grow your audience, or just crush life in general, remember this: education is the cheat code that keeps you winning.
You don’t have to know it all, you just have to keep learning...
R – Resilience
Holy flying tweets of pessimism and disappointment!
The Cups Half Full - even when things go Pete Tong -so act like it.
Its a major asset that every successful person musters....
Develop resilience to handle criticism, failure, and unforeseen challenges. Resilience helps you bounce back stronger and learn from adversity.
You have to !
—————❖—————
How to Bounce Back Stronger When Life (or 𝕏) Throws You a Curveball
Imagine you’re trying to build a business or grow your 𝕏 account. You’ve got a solid plan, you’re posting consistently, and things seem to be moving in the right direction.
But then, BAM!, your engagement drops, a product launch flops, or you lose a few followers overnight.
All that and more has happened to me too.
Cue the meltdown, right? Not if you’ve got resilience.
—————❖—————
Resilience is like your built-in bounce-back mechanism. It’s what helps you get up, dust yourself off, and keep moving forward when life (or the algorithm) or even expectations smack you in the face.
Whether you’re growing a business, developing yourself, or trying to crack the 𝕏 code, resilience is what will keep you in the game long enough to win.
It took me three whole months before I got my first client from the first the day I opened up my Coaching business.
Six months later, I had so many I didn't know what to do with them. First world problems I know...
But the point being;
—————❖—————
Resilience Is Your Secret Weapon for Success
(and Sanity)
Let’s get real for a second. Business and personal growth aren’t easy. There are going to be days when everything goes wrong, sales dry up, content flops, or worse, you get trolled on 𝕏 for that one post you thought was genius. Who gives a fig !
The question isn’t if things will go wrong, but when. And when they do, how will you react?
I employed somebody to look after my business whilst I was focusing for the last 90 days on 𝕏.
I paid them well.
But it wasn't their qualifications that impressed me. It was their pro-activity in dealing with problems and maintaining a can-do attitude.
That’s where resilience comes in. Resilience isn’t about avoiding failure; it’s about embracing it, learning from it, and coming back stronger.
The most successful people you admire didn’t get there because everything worked out perfectly for them. They got there because they failed, learned, and kept going.
Think of it this way: failure is just feedback in disguise.
If you’re growing a business or building a presence on 𝕏, you need resilience more than anything else.
Social media is unpredictable, business is tough, and if you fold at the first sign of trouble, you’ll never see the big wins.
—————❖—————
Building Resilience Without Turning Into a Robot
(Change Your Relationship with Failure)
Here’s a wild thought: failure isn’t the enemy. In fact, it’s one of your best teachers my people.
Every time something goes wrong, whether in business or on 𝕏, there’s a lesson hidden in there, kind of like finding a surprise toy in a cereal box
(except it’s an annoying toy, but still)
Instead of seeing failure as the end, look at it as feedback.
-Didn’t get the sales you wanted from that product launch? Awesome, now you know what doesn’t work.
-Lost a chunk of followers after posting about a new topic? Cool, time to refine your messaging.
The faster you can detach from the emotional sting of failure and treat it as data, the faster you’ll bounce back.
—————❖—————
Surround Yourself with People Who Get It
Here’s a fun fact: resilience isn’t built in isolation. The people you surround yourself with have a huge impact on how you handle setbacks.
If you’re around people who fold at the first sign of trouble, you’ll start doing the same.
But if you’re hanging with folks who have grit and resilience, you’ll start to absorb their bounce-back attitude.
Whether it’s my Mastermind Group, fellow entrepreneurs, or just like-minded friends on 𝕏, having a support system can make all the difference when things go sideways.
—————❖—————
Celebrate the Comebacks
(No Matter How Small)
Building resilience isn’t just about surviving the big disasters, it’s about recognizing the small victories, too.
-Did you bounce back after a week of low engagement on 𝕏? Celebrate that.
-Did you tweak your product after a failed launch and make your first sale? That’s a win.
Resilience is like a muscle. The more you flex it, the stronger it gets. 💪
So, every time you get knocked down and get back up, even in small ways, you’re building that resilience muscle for the long haul.
—————❖—————
The Funny Thing About Resilience: It Gets Easier
The weird thing about resilience is that the more you fail, the easier it gets to bounce back.
It’s like the first time you spill coffee on your laptop, it feels like the end of the world. But by the fourth time, you’re like, “Eh, guess I’ll be using rice again.”
And though im messing with you just a little bit saying that, trust me, I have eaten failure plenty in my younger years and even in the last few days.
Resilience teaches you not to take setbacks so personally.
Sure, it stings when things don’t go as planned, but over time, you start to realize that every setback is just a detour, not a dead end.
And sometimes, those detours lead you to better opportunities you never would’ve found otherwise.
So, the next time something goes wrong, whether your 𝕏 engagement tanks, a client ghosts you, or a project flops, and all three have happened to me: remember this: it’s just another plot twist in your ongoing success story.
Keep going, keep learning, and keep bouncing back.
You’re building resilience, and that’s the real key to ever lasting success.
If you have gained value from this (incredibly long) post - well you already know what to do.

And remember from somebody who has tasted the lows and the highs in this life - 6-12 months of hard work, strategy and planning can change everything.
