How To Build a 6-Figure Writing Business In 12 Months

How To Build a 6-Figure Writing Business In 12 Months?

Excuses? Im not buying them.

23 yrs ago, I was knocking on doors for clients.

These days, if i had to start over;

I would use keyword research and digital outreach.

Plus I would use these secrets to turn words to wealth.

...

How I Started My Business By Knocking On Doors (Yes, Really)

Let's take a trip down memory lane, back to a time when "online marketing" was about as relevant as VHS tapes are today.

Picture this: me, 23 years younger, rocking a suit that might’ve been better suited for a disco,

Going door-to-door to businesses, offering to rewrite their marketing materials, menus, flyers - everything !

No SEO. No social media. (well very minimal, anyway)

And when I first started out in this game it was simply; -Just a handshake, a smile, and a pitch.

But it worked!

I built a thriving business out of it.

And now, while the methods have changed, and mine did too, the principles behind some of this=evergreen.

If you’re just starting out, forget about get-rich-quick.

It's far better to get-rich-smartly.

I’m going to show you how to replicate my success using today’s methods.

(and still make you turn up in person - or video call)

Evergreen methods will never go out of fashion.

(Even though my Suit did from back then - BIG TIME)

Ready to take your first step toward earning a solid writing income in less than 12 months?

Let’s dive in.

—————❖—————

The Evolution Of The Hustle:

(From Door-to-Door to Google Meet)

Back in the day, I had to rely on charm, persistence, and the occasional bribe of coffee and a free Croissant to get businesses to even listen to me.

Nowadays, you don’t need to wear out your shoe leather to find potential clients.

But that being said, face-to-face is still unbeatable.

But now: let Google do the heavy lifting first.

Here’s the scoop:

Local keyword research is your new best friend kids.

By finding out what local businesses are searching for, you can tailor your pitch to address their needs before you even step into their office, or slide into their DMs.

Identify what businesses in your area are looking for.

Are they searching for

“best restaurant marketing strategies” or

“how to get more clients as a chiropractor”?

Think like they are thinking. Its easier these days now;

You need the answers before you even say hello.

Knock, Knock: Outreach Isn’t Dead

(It’s Just Gone Digital, and Video Based Also)

You should still knock on doors, just do it virtually first.

The phone and a face to face pitching made me💰

Times have changed. But the need for originality wont.

Start by creating a killer pitch that speaks directly to the pain points you discovered in your keyword research. (and by fully scrutinizing their website)

Then, reach out via email, phone-calls or even DMs.

But remember, this isn’t your standard cold pitch...

Add a touch of humor, a dash of personality, and a clever subject line that makes them smile.

(or at least smirk).

No Second Chance To Make A First Impression:

Trust me, no one remembers the email that starts with “Dear Sir/Madam.”

Hmm. Lets me give you an example.

This is how I might pitch local Restaurants:

“Hey [Business Name], I noticed your menu has more flair than your marketing materials or website does.

What if I could spice up your copy to match that 5-star dish of yours?

Let’s chat, my treat if you don’t laugh at least once and learn to 10X your income during our call.”

Then you call them - or you visit them in person or you video call them. All will work. I say do all three !

And the 'secret' -

- is the closer you get to seeing the whites of their eyes, the better you will tend to do. FACTS>

People - buy - People.

Your Golden Ticket to Evergreen Income:

Once you’ve got their attention, it’s time to deliver the goods. Content creation is the name of the game.

(And you need to have the A Team skills to do so first)

Authenticity, Attention, Authority.

Businesses are always in need of fresh, engaging content to keep their customers interested, their SEO rankings high and to grow social media presence.

Position Yourself Better Than The Karma Sutra:

You’re not just a writer; you’re a content creator, a storyteller, and a brand’s new best friend.

That's the angle you need to come from.

Whether it’s menus, flyers, blogs, newsletters, social media posts, or even video scripts, the demand is endless. (and you need to be able to produce it)

And the best part?

Once you’ve established yourself, this can turn into a steady stream of recurring income.

—————❖—————

Social Media Management:

(The Sidekick Every Content Creator Needs)

Here’s the thing, creating is only half the battle.

Once content is completed, it needs to be distributed.

That’s where social media management comes in.

Offer this as an additional service, and suddenly you’re not just a content creator; you’re a one-stop marketing machine.

Position this as a way to take the stress off your client’s plate.

“You focus on your business, and I’ll make sure your customers know about it.”

The Everlasting Demand For Superlative Content

Twenty plus years ago, I was hustling from business to business, rewriting marketing materials with dial up internet and a PC less powerful than your phone. Facts.

Today, the tools have changed, evolved and improved. But the demand for quality content hasn’t.

Its grown.🌱

Businesses will always need to communicate their value to customers. And that’s where you come in.

With a bit of research, a lot of creativity, and the courage to knock on digital doors, and some actual ones too -

-You can build a thriving business that not only pays the bills but gives you the financial freedom you’ve been dreaming of. ✏️+🧠=💰

Next time, i will break down how i did this myself and then switch it up to show you how i would do so today.

So, what are you waiting for?

The future you desire is only a pitch (or ten) away.

Yours, ✏️
