Flipping common Business beliefs on their head.
That's what this Thread is all about.
It's the one I wish someone had wrote for me;
Over 20 years ago when I first started out...
Learn from my mistakes. So you don't have to.
1. I Was Told Credentials Are Everything:
And they are important! However...
Think you need a wall full of certificates to be legit?
Turns out, clients care more about the results you deliver than how many acronyms you have after your name.
2. Be The Master Of One Thing First:
I used to think niching down would limit my options.
But guess what?
When you speak to everyone, you reach no one.
10 prime prospects is far better than 25 tyre kickers...
3. When I Started I Was All About Scaling:
I thought success was all about growth.
Bigger team, more clients, endless hustle.
Turns out, it was all about the micro mastery first!
Serving a smaller, high-value group then expanding.
4. These Days - Most Of My Business Is Referrals.
But I used to be delusional!
I thought as soon as I launched my coaching and consultancy biz, clients would magically appear.
Spoiler alert: They didn’t. (At the start)
Proactive outreach and building relationships is key!
5. Because Eventually You Will Be Able To Say No.
The other thing I learned is you don't have to say yes...
The wrong clients ruin your day rapido;
While the right ones boost your business.
I found more joy and energy when working this way.
6. When You Have Built Credibility: Capitalize.
I used to think I had to charge low to get clients.
But I learned those who wanted to pay least were often the hardest to please!
I say, charge what your honestly worth, and get clients who value your work.
7. Nobody Cares What You Know.
I thought knowing my stuff was all that mattered.
Nope! It's only about how much you can help others.
Now I see it as doing things empathetically AI can't.
Forming genuine connections and bespoke solutions.
8. And It's All About The Added Value:
I got known for going above and beyond for clients.
Their success and wellbeing became my business.
And one which I obsessed over night and day!
The questions is how and where will you add value?
9. Under Promise And Overdeliver:
Sounds so simple right?
But when you believe in your product or service -
Its easy to get carried away. So I learned not to.
Instead I learned, results speak louder than words.
10. I Wrote My Own Coaching Model.
But you don't have to go that far.
What will you do to be different though?
To make peoples lives easier, better, more effective, or more enjoyable?
The degree to which you do so determines success.
And i'm wishing you the best in yours. 🙏
