Olympic Sized Mess Ups

Ready For Some Saturday Olympic Hilarity? 🤣🏅

From napping Marathoners to identity-swapping Gymnasts, follow Mike into the mishaps !

(Whilst covering lessons for Content Creation, Coaching+Commercial Writing too.)

Get ready to laugh and learn! 😂✍️

1. The Marathon Mix-Up 🏃‍♂️😴🚗

At the 1904 Olympics, a runner had a power nap and still finished 4th. WTF !

Plan your content like an athlete: But not that one !

Content creation is a Marathon not a Sprint kids.

But no napping ok!

2. The Pigeon Incident 🕊️🎯😱

In 1900, live pigeons were used in shooting events.

(There's one that I could think of using for that !)

We need to expect the unexpected in Coaching too.

Always have a backup plan, or risk getting your feathers ruffled. 🐦🔫🤣 #CoachingLife

3. The Rowboat Rescue 🚣‍♂️🌊💖

I read that in the 1928 Olympics, a dude paused mid-race to save a drowning opponent !

And in all seriousness, addressing urgent client needs is also what I do.

Sometimes, saving the day matters more than just winning the race. 🏅👊 #ClientFirst

4. The Pole Vault Borrow 🏆🤸‍♂️📦

In 1900, a vaulter borrowed a pole and still won gold!

The lesson ? When resources are limited, get creative.

Do that and you can vault over any obstacles to eventual success. 🏅📈

5. Gymnast’s Sneaky Switch 🤸‍♂️🕵️‍♂️🏅

In 1956, a Soviet gymnast swapped identities with her twin sister, competing twice under different names!

As Coaches, we have to innovate with creative, unconventional methods to help clients flip their performance too 🤸‍♀️🎩✨ #CoachingTips

6. The Lost Race 🍳🏃‍♂️🍾

The 1904 marathon winner drank brandy and ate egg whites before the race...

Dang.

Me? Just 16 Coffees and im ready go !

(Breakfast of champions baby)

Keep your writing marathon-ready. Just like Mike, 📝🏅🥂

7. Tumble of '84 🤦‍♂️🏊‍♂️😆

In 1984, a diver misjudged the board’s length and fell off before diving.

How can we learn from his mishap?

Double-check details in content creation to avoid diving into errors. (See what I did there)

Precision saves us from a splashy flop dudes. 💦😂

8. The Horse Who Said "Neigh" 🐴🙅‍♂️🥇

In 1932, a horse refused to jump, costing its rider a medal. Id send that thing to the Glue Factory quicker than you could say Bostik.

Prepare for unpredictability in coaching. Adapt your methods based on client feedback🐎💼👍

9. The "Miss"-Communications 📣🇸🇪🙊

In 1932, judges mistook a Swedish hand gesture for a rude cultural swear sign!

(Two fingers up at the Judge)

Clear communication is key in writing.

Avoid mixed signals to ensure your message scores. 🥇📢🔍

10 RECAP

So there we have it...

If messing up was an Olympic sport, every one of us would be Gold Medal Winners.

But thats ok !

(I told you before that failures are all an essential part of the journey)

Lets take out the funny bits and give you a recap of the salient points...

Plan your content like an athlete: avoid shortcuts and always stay the course. 🏃‍♂️✨
